Mission impossible: 2 Tasks: senior 3D artist, pipeline and tools developer. I participated in almost every shot of the sequence where Ethan (Tom Cruise) jumps out of the building, starting from building the geometry from a survey data of Sydney, to setting up the texture projections using high-dynamic range photography. Most of my effort was placed in helping build a pipeline and defining the workflow that allowed the artist work in the sequence to be done in a timely manner. I wrote several tools (MEL/GUI) for Maya as well as Perl and shell scripts that provided a simple and quick way to do the work. |
